COURIER CARNAGE ❄ VIOLENT NIGHT

Snow is falling upon Slateport.

The city is bathed in the colourful glow of a million fairy lights, painting it in shades of red and green and silver and gold. Stalls line the streets, and hundreds of thousands of people fill them to the brim. Wherever one goes, they can hear the sounds of excited chatter and warm cheer. The mood is infectious, borderline inescapable, and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why.

Christmas has come to Hoenn, and Christmas Markets have come to Slateport. Eager for a distraction from the tumultuous affairs of their homeland, people have flocked to the festivities, ready for a day of good, wholesome fun. Meanwhile, businesses big and small have also set up shop, ready to rake in the cash from the throngs of people. But more than petty escapism or common capitalism, it represents a day for friends and family to come together, to enjoy each other’s company, and to make memories that will last a lifetime.

And it will certainly be an unforgettable day.

While many might associate a Christmas Market with food and drinks and the like, that wasn’t all that the festival had to offer. No, there were plenty more unique and exotic offerings about, eager to tempt any onlookers into parting with their hard-earned cash. And, out of all these attractions, there were none more tempting than the rides.

Or, well, “rides”. While there were no thrilling roller coasters or million-dollar simulators, one could still find a small cluster of mechanical delights amid the hustle and bustle. A Merry-Go-Round spins around and around, fibreglass models of Lapras and Galarian Rapidash carrying their riders up and down. Not far from that, a small Ferris Wheel slowly rotates, giving its passengers extraordinary views from both above and below. And encircling it all is a humble train, slowly chugging along all the sights and sounds and smells on display.

It’s rather modern, and it’s far from traditional, but that hasn’t stopped people from showing up in droves. After all, who doesn’t like a theme park? Sure, this one might not be as extensive or as extravagant, but it certainly has a distinct atmosphere. If one let their guard down, they could easily get lost in the vibes--

”GAAAAAAAAH!”

--Which were soon soured by the sound of a heavy impact and a shrill scream. From all around, heads turned and eyes widened as they looked towards the source of the disruption. What was going on?

And the answer to that question was remarkably simple: An Iron Bundle had just suplexed someone wearing a Delibird mascot costume.

Schuyler checked his phone and offered a displeased sigh. His publisher agreed to meet him at the Slateport Christmas Market, yet it seemed the man had to cancel. Something about his kid getting cut by some other kids who got knives from some mysterious gifter further off. He rolled his eyes and texted back a simple message to the publisher. What kind of parents allowed their kids to run around with knives?

If balancing your work and personal life is too much, I'm happy to find someone else, Ben. This is the third time you've skipped out on me in the span of three weeks. I understand your troubles but you have to understand where I'm coming from: get it together or I'll move on to someone who actually appreciates the effort I'm putting in here.

As he hit send, the commotion caused him to jump a bit in surprise. Had that Iron Bundle just attacked the poor Delibird mascot. Maybe it was jealous of its presence over the holidays and wanted it all for itself? Or maybe something more was at play. A crowd had begun to form and Schuyler couldn't help but shove his way through.

The way the Iron Bundle stood over the Delibird-clad victim seemed to exude a sense of danger. As though this wasn't merely an accident or something on the mascot's end. Some of the kids seemed shocked and scared that their good buddy Iron Bundle seemed to start turning violent. Schuyler did what just about any responsible adult would do and gently pushed them behind him. They didn't need to be seeing stars like that poor mascot was.

"Hey, go find your parents," he ordered as a warning to retreat.

His eyes fell on the Iron Bundle. If that creature could suplex a full grown adult like it was no problem, what other damage could it cause? The mechanical menace meandered towards the mascot, ready to kick the poor guy while he was down again. Though the moment Schuyler sent his Pangoro forward, the behemoth slipped on a patch of ice, not only taking itself down, but its trainer as well. Schuyler floundered beneath the weight of the panda-like pokemon and felt himself grow frustrated with the way the two had made fools of themselves already.

"Some assistance would be nice!" he hissed, namely at the bystanders who continued to find themselves dumbfounded by the rogue Iron Bundle.

The festival meant Robin had an opportunity to bond with her pokemon. She had to repair their trust in her after putting them through such a punishing regiment after she lost to a Rocket in the water routes. They had been severely dehydrated and fatigued when Gwendolyn Conway had pulled her back and checked her. Now, Robin intentionally spent time with her pokemon 1 on 1 to fix things. The celebration left her and Gengar sharing a shaved ice that had syrup poured on to mimic the appearance of a delibird.

And 'share' meant she had an opportunity for a few licks before Gengar devoured the thing at once. She often had to distract him to ensure she could try some, as his trickster nature left him with a strong desire to mess with her even when she was genuinely trying to show him kindness. If they could bond over pranking a third party, it might help repair the bridge, but she didn't have the heart to do it.

She was so involved in keeping Gengar from finishing the treat that she didn't notice anything was amiss until -- "Some assistance would be nice!

She sprung to action at the tone of voice, dropping the shaved ice (which Gengar caught on his large tongue and devoured) to hurry over to him. "I gotcha!" She barely got a few steps on the ice before she fell, hard. Gengar, however, entertained himself by getting closer to the violence, abandoning his fallen trainer without a second thought.

Luka, as always, is enchanted by the festivities of the Christmas market.[break][break]

She loves everything about it: the lights, the festivities, the food, and the happy chatter of other guests as they mill around her. Of course, it's a bit of a bummer to be attending alone, but she's trying to turn it into a fun day out with some of her Pokemon instead. Her Lopunny and Sylveon trot happily by her side while her Togepi coos in his little baby carrier, enjoying the sights and taking in the warm scent of cinnamon and cut pine in the air.[break][break]

It's Hoenn, so it's not as though it's freezing cold, but the feeling of a hot chocolate in her hands is still rather comforting as she wanders the ground. But because it's Hoenn, her peaceful afternoon is quickly shattered by a commotion up ahead. The sudden shouting makes her choke on a sip of her drink, and she splutters and spits out a mouthful of chocolate, burning her tongue in the process.[break][break]

What the heck is going on? She can just make out the forms of two Delibird fighting- or wait, is that a costume? And where did the Iron Bundle come from? Weren't they only supposed to manifest in the interdream zone?[break][break]

Whatever. That doesn't matter right now, not when the Iron Bundle is going WWE on the poor mascot! A few people are already running to help— somoene nearby shouts for assistance, and she's one of those who answers the call. But while some others start going after the Iron Bundle, Luka looks after the fallen mascot instead. Her Sylveon wraps her ribbon-like feelers around the costume and tries pulling it away from the rogue robot, wrestling the hapless victim away in a weird game of tug-of-war.[break][break]

"I got 'em!" she shouts in the general vicinity of those gathered. "Erm...I think so, a-anyways! But be careful! M-maybe, um..."[break][break]

Her mind whirls. Why would the Iron Bundle suddenly attack someone like this? Perhaps it's mistaken the costume for a real Delibird? As she considers this, her Sylveon continues to struggle with pulling the mascot away.[break][break]

"M-maybe this is some kinda weird mating dance, I don't know! E-either way, we shouldn't hurt the poor thing!"

There was something in the festive air of Christmas that put a smile on people’s face, even someone usually as frigid as Trinity. Slateport was filled with hustle and bustle of people and Pokemon enjoying the sights and rides. Even the girl’s youngest partner, Cubone, was enjoying herself which was a welcome sight to the young Rocket. The usually Lonely Pokemon had its eyes darting this way and that, reflecting the glamor of the surrounding lights as Trinity held her in her arms. Despite her love of the festivities, it was important for the Ground type to stay warm in these temperatures.. However, despite the cold that bit the tip of her nose, Trinity found solace on the train ride with her Cubone, momentarily forgetting about the growing conflict between the League and Team Rocket. It was a nice distraction.

[break][break] That was until the train came to a screeching halt, followed by the screams of other fair goers. “What the hell is going on?” She hissed to herself, frustration welling up at whatever ruined her rare moment of relaxation. Trinity shot up, scanning the crowd as she put Cubone down on the seat next to her. Almost instantly Cubone began to sniffle once her Trainer put her down moments before full on crying. Trinity felt a pang of guilt combined with further annoyance at… whatever was going on. “C’mon,” Trinity said as she scooped her Cubone up and vaulted over the railing of her traincar. In the corner of her vision, she happened to notice a man dressed like a cowboy also running towards the commotion, also with a Cubone. It was a short run before the pair found the source: an Iron Bundle was in a battle with a giant Delibird! No… that was the fair mascot. Still, seeing the robotic bird attacking someone was out of the ordinary.

[break][break]”Cubone, Bone Rush!” Trinity released her sad and angry child from her arms. The Pokemon, still with tears in her eyes, launched her bone club at the exact same time as the one belonging to the cowboy, aimed at the opposite side of the Iron Bundle. It probably wasn’t smart to fight with Cubone, but Trinity wanted her partner to get payback for this bucket of bolts ruining her nice day. “It must have faulty circuitry.” Trinity hypothesized mostly to herself, but loud enough to be heard by people close enough. The blue hair girl stood between the iron Budle and the man that tripped over… his own shoelaces? She wasn’t sure, but at least he was being helped by his friend with the Gengar. “It’s possible it might need a hard reboot. So unless you know where its power button is, we might have to give it a jolt to pacify it.” Trinity finished by responding to the calls of a ceasefire from the Sylveon trainer as she scanned the area for a battery or a generator or something.

Tiny feet are in the midst of stomping out the pretender bird before luka chêne’s Sylveon steps in to save him. Ribbons grab on the mascot’s arms and proceed to drag him away, but the Iron Bundle isn’t done with him yet. Flipper grab at the legs of the outfit, and the unfortunate victim finds himself, essentially, torture racked. The tug of war continues for a good few seconds, going back and forth, and causing much pain to the “rope” in the process. Eventually, however, something has to give.

RIIIIIIIIIIP! The cheap fabric of the outfit rips right through the middle, and fortunately, Sylveon gets the half of the costume with the actor inside. In a morbid way, it’s like winning a Christmas Cracker, but instead of getting a paper crown or a bad joke, she won an underpaid college student in their skivvies.

Lucky for him, the Paradox Pokemon would give up its vendetta, mainly because it was about to form a new one.

CLONK! A bone, thrown by virgil roach’s Cubone, hits the brutal bird right in the head. A tiny dent is left on the crest of the machine, and as its head swivels one-hundred and eighty degrees to look for the source, it’s clear it won’t let that slight go unpunished.

And it finds its target. Immediately, the Iron Bundle sprints away, kicking up plenty of fake snow and sending chunks of ice flying. Specifically, flying towards schuyler tate and robin coello, who are still lying in a heap on the ground. If they didn’t get their act together quickly, they’d soon fight themselves buried by this brand new Pokemon attack - Ice Tomb.

In terms of actual attacks, it surges towards its aggressor, aiming a Sucker Punch towards them. Sure enough, it lands a clean hit, and sends the Cubone flying… Except, it’s not virgil roach’s Cubone, but the one belonging to trinity beckman. The weeping child is sent flying, suffering a greatly damaging blow. Not from the punch, mind, the bruises from that would heal on their own in a few days. Nor from the impact, as the ground type would soar through the air and land in one of the many shops, falling comfortably into a pile of clothes. No, the damage came when he pulled himself free, and saw the picture painted on the stall’s unassuming sign - A Kanghaskhan mother and their child, walking together hand-in-hand, smiling all the while. Tragic.

Clearly, this rogue robot was malfunctioning, and it needed to be shut down quickly. Looking around, trinity beckman would find a power source that might do the trick, that being the generator powering the now-stopped train. If she could zap it with that, then maybe it would go back to normal?

But the Iron Bundle would beat her to the punch. Scurrying along, it would deliver a powerful dropkick to the “conductor” of the train, sending them flying off. Settling into the driver's seat, it pushed every lever and smashed every button it could, and before long, the train was moving once more, slowly beginning to chug along the festive railway.

It was getting away!

As much as he wanted to thank his knight in shining armor, it seemed the poor girl had got caught on the same patch of ice. He winced in a sense of sympathy the moment the brunette met the cold and unforgiving ground. But before he could get any words out, the pair had begun to take the assault of the ICE TOMB. Schuyler raised his arm to try and keep shards from buffetting his face as he began to stand. Once his feet were planted firm, a hand was offered out to help the ranger.

"You good? Let's try to focus on-- Hey! It's getting away!"

As if on cue, his Pangoro began to charge at the tracks. If they could take out a fair chunk of the track, they could cut off the escape of the Iron Bundle. With the seeming arrival of three other folks, he could only attempt to voice his idea and charge everyone into motion. His eyes first went to the girl who spoke of a power button gave a firm nod. She had a point, but it'd take some precision.

"It seems keen on something with that train, you focus on aiming at the Iron Bundle itself, if you'd please," he insisted, not forgetting his manners. "Cowboy, you with the pink hair, you both mind focusing on a way to slow that train down? I'm gonna use my heavy hitter to try and take out its exit strategy."

His eyes soon shot to the ranger whom had tried to help him earlier. "This might be a long shot but Gengar is a heavy hitter -- sleep, paralysis, confusion -- if you think your Gengar can do it, you want to help the tech wiz get a steady aim by conking that machine out?"

Not that it was in his place to bark orders, and he understood well that the group could outright ignore his suggestions, but it seemed to be in their best interest to partner up and round up the robotic ruffian. His attention soon moved to his Pangoro who readied itself on the tracks, ready to smash into the train tracks with a HAMMER ARM.

Things were getting hectic, fast.

Robin did her best to scramble to her feet even as an onslaught of ice came her way. She took the offered hand and thanked the man, standing unsteadily. Things were unraveling into a catastrophe, and she didn't have all her pokemon with her like a fool. A Ranger had to always be prepared, but she was chopped liver.

"Hm? Oh, yes. Hypnosis should work perfectly." The man's authority went unquestioned by Robin, especially as his idea seemed perfect, and she didn't have a plan of her own. "Gen! Use hypnosis on the bad bird, okay?"

Gengar, thankfully, followed her command without any hemming or hawing. He liked to dawdle when she demanded urgency, but perhaps he didn't want to act as foolish as usual in front of this audience. He approached the wild bird with no care in the world, performing hypnosis despite iron bundle's focus on destruction. Robin fought the urge to bite her nails as she stared at the tracks. "Direct combat will get messy if it doesn't go down. I wonder if we can distract it with something it wants." She was totally unfamiliar with the pokemon, but she suspected that bribing it with berries wouldn't work like it did for her Snorlax.

he found himself near a group of people, some addressing the situation, others merely gawking at the chaos. at luka chêne ’s suggestion, he puffed his cigar and coughed, more grit to his voice than usual from the cold, ”mating dance my ass. bird’s gone postal, attackin’ its own.”[break][break]

he also argued with trinity beckman , ”shit, thems’re dangerous as is. they're playin’ with fire out here. this is what happens when you automate the world.” he shook his head and snowflakes fell off his hair beneath his hat. ”dumbasses.” whoever was putting the iron bundle in charge of anything.[break][break]

”so we get it down, ‘n yer gonna reboot it? why not just keep it off?”[break][break]

the iron bundle charged, and at first it was difficult to discern which of them was the target of the aggression–but he reasoned that his cubone was a good guess.[break][break]

”oh hell, here we go. run, boomer!” run it did, not looking back. ”i didn’t say leave, you coward!”[break][break]

the cubone turned back reluctantly, and past it roach caught the sight of the conductor being kicked off the train, and the smoke from his unwitting friend’s cigarette still drifting up from the caboose as the cars began to chug away again down the tracks.[break][break]

he turned his head at schuyler tate , brows furrowing. ”cowboy?” but he let it slide, in the midst of their situation. ”after the train, boom-boom!”[break][break]

the cubone took off and roach followed, albeit at a much slower pace than his pokemon scrambling ahead.[break][break]

With one final heave and a loud tearing of cloth, the mascot costume bursts open. Luka's Sylveon tries her best to catch the poor guy who had been trapped inside, but instead she winds up with a face full of foam and faux fir while he lands headfirst in a snowbank. She struggles for a moment to wriggle out from under the costume, but eventually emerges with a huff, her fur covered in snow.[break][break]

"Oh gosh...a-are you okay?"[break][break]

Temporarily abandoning the fight against the Iron Bundle, Luka rushes to the mascot's side and pulls him out of the snow. He looks dizzy and disoriented— did he hit his head?— but otherwise fine. Thank goodness![break][break]

"Here," she says, quickly shucking off her coat and draping it over him, "Try to, um, to find some first aid, okay? We've got to take care of that thing before it can hurt anyone else!"[break][break]

She pushes herself off the ground, nodding in response to schuyler tate's suggestion. "Ah, o-okay! Sugar, do you think you can- eh?"[break][break]

After only taking a few steps, something starts pulling her back. Luka looks down to find a hand holding her wrist in a vice-grip. Attached to it is the poor guy they'd just saved, holding her in place as she tries to go and help the others. His expression is vacant and confused, but his eyes shine with blatant adoration for this pink haired angel.[break][break]

"Wait!" he exclaims, his grip tightening, "You can't leave me. I still need you!"[break][break]

"O-oh! Um, t-that's...I mean, that's sweet! But I need to, um, t-to go help, so..."[break][break]

Luka keeps trying to pull away, with very little success. Eventually her Sylveon comes to her aid again, this time playing tug-of-war between this weird guy and her trainer. Meanwhile, the chaotic battle in front of them continues to unfold with her unable to do anything about it![break][break]

And so, with both trainer and Sylveon occupied, Luka's Togepi steps up to the plate. Well, perhaps waddles would be a better word. Amidst the commotion Toffee slips out of his baby carrier and toddles towards the action, only vaguely understanding what his trainer is supposed to do. His stubby little arms wiggle as he performs a metronome on the speeding train, leaving the results up to fate (or a mod post xoxo).[break][break]

Trinity let out a small gasp of shock as the Iron Bundle literally punch her Cubone into next week. The little Pokemon went flying, moving faster than they’d ever seen the Ground type move before. Trinity acted without thinking, reaching up to try and grab her Pokemon as it soared overhead. She was successful in gasping her Cubone by the bone, but was merely whisked away along with it rather than stopping it. Trinity and her Cubone crashed into the stall, forcing a number of Delibird themed plushies to bonk the Rocket on the head. An ache ran through her body and Trinity could feel a migraine coming on from the absurdity of the situation. They felt more like a character in a gag manga than a member of an international criminal organization!

[break][break] A familiar sound broke her from her reverie and Trinity looked down to see her Cubone in the early stages of beginning to cry as she looked at a Kanghaskhan poster. Trinity simply picked her Pokemon up, breaking line of sight with the poster, hoping that it would get her little Pokemon back to the task at hand. Which was…. Chasing after the train, it seemed. The man who had fallen was now barking orders, but he was saying things that Trinity didn’t need to be told. The girl with the Gengar went to hypnotize the rampaging courier, and the cowboy was yelling about why they couldn’t just turn the damned thing off for good.

[break][break]”’Cause it’s still a Pokemon, despite its robotic parts.” She said simply as she rose to her feet, making something bounce off of her lap. And a dead Iron Bundle is useless to Team Rocket, she thought to herself as she picked up the object she’d knocked over: a Delibird plushie, a little on the small side to be life size. An idea hit the girl and she gave the stuffed toy to Cubone for safekeeping before picking them both up and running after the train.

[break][break] “Hey bird-circuits!” She yelled to try and get the Bundle’s attention, hopping onto the back of the train car (If permissible.) “Give up, or your friend here gets it.” To emphasize Trinity’s point, Cubone held her bone club threateningly towards the Delibird plushie. Right now they needed to at least keep the Bundle’s attention so it would at least stay in one spot so the shock could be administered. The girl was hoping that, between the Hypnosis and the courier’s rage induced state, it wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between a real “friend” and a Marketable Plushie.

As the train chugs onward and the Iron Bundle makes its escape, everyone makes their own attempt at stopping it. After all, this is a violent and unpredictable menace they’re dealing with. If it gets away here, then it’ll certainly go on to cause even more chaos, and if that happens, then Christmas could be ruined!

schuyler tate’s Pangoro takes the most direct action. After all, the train can’t get away if the train can’t move. So, the hulking brute charges towards the rails, aiming to break them beyond repair. But as he does, the dazed conductor shouts towards him, panic writ plain upon his face.

“No, Pangoro! THE THIRD RAIL!”

SLAM! A Hammer Arm hits the track, and then, BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT! Electricity courses through the bear’s body, intense voltage racing through his body. If one squints hard enough, they can almost see its skeleton. That was bad enough, and it would only get worse for the Pangoro, as it was struck by the full force of the train. Granted, the train’s top speed was only about fifteen miles per hour, but still.

Next up to the plate was robin coello’s Gengar, who floated up to the front of the train to hit the Iron Bundle with a Hypnosis. Yet, before he could put his devious plan in motion, the ghost was hit by a flurry of attacks. First, two flippers poked him directly in his wide eyes. Then, they grabbed its long tongue, and proceeded to pull it as far as it could stretch. Finally, with all its might, it proceeded to kick the ghost in the jaw, forcing it to bite down on its tongue. Not only did the Iron Bundle fight dirty, but it Played Rough, too.

Evidently, fighting this Iron Bundle head-on wasn’t working. So, trinity beckman would attempt a less violent solution, trying to blackmail the Paradox Pokemon by holding a plush toy of a Delibird hostage. That would indeed provoke a reaction from the criminal, though not the one she might’ve hoped.

SLORCH! The body of the Gengar, still reeling from its many owies, was thrown towards the plush toy with extreme prejudice, hitting it dead-on. It seemed that appealing to the pathos of this cold, unfeeling machine would not sway it from its violent ways.

It seemed that all attempts to stall its escape had failed, so all that was left was to chase it. virgil roach and his Cubone both managed to leap aboard the moving train, pulling themselves aboard one of the passenger cars, and ensuring they’d be able to keep up with the runaway. Meanwhile, as luka chêne was dealing with her newfound fan, her Togepi would perform a Metronome. In an instant, the tiny egg would begin to Fly, soaring high in the air for only a precious moment, before dropping back down onto the roof of the train.

But despite all their efforts, they still hadn’t stopped the rogue robot, and it wasn’t going to take this interference sitting down. Aiming its sack forward, it fired out a flurry of Air Cutters, shooting forth the slicing gusts towards those not currently on the train. Luckily, that meant virgil roach and luka chêne’s Togepi were safe. schuyler tate, robin coello, trinity beckman, and luka chêne herself, however? Were not so lucky.

The next deadline is the 23rd of November 2023, 7PM GMT.

Schuyler couldn't help but wince at the way his poor Pangoro went alight by the voltage of the train. On top of that, the poor creature went flying. Schuyler let his Goodra out of its ball and ordered a quick SHADOW SNEAK for it to catch the Pangoro before it could take much further assault. At least the tactic provided had made for some success. The Cowboy who didn't seem to favor the title "cowboy" managed to get up onto the train. If he and his Cubone could somehow smash the control panel of the train, things would be superb.

But before that part of the plan could be put into motion, he seemed dumbfounded by the Togepi that managed to get aboard the train. Wait, didn't that thing belong to the pink haired girl currently being held hostage by what he could only assume was a grateful stranger? With his own pokemon wrangled in, he decided the best course of action was, as selfish as it seemed, treat his own team like meat shields. His attention turned to the ranger ( robin coello ) with her Gengar and gave a firm nod to her.

"Make sure to get behind us. Formulate a long distance plan if you're able. "

His Goodra took its stance before the pink haired girl ( luka chêne ) and turned his attention to her and spoke up. His tone was kept calm, yet carried a certain weight to it that meant she had to stay sharp. Hopefully shake off that fan of hers.

"Other than the man aboard the train right now, you're our key to success right now. That's your Togepi up there, right? You call the shots from here on out, we'll serve as your shield."

The trainer gripping onto her Cubone ( trinity beckman ) had a smart ploy in trying to distract the Iron Bundle, but unfortunately the machine didn't dare to be swayed. Unfortunately he didn't have the manpower to protect her from the distance the four of them all shared, so he figured it best to rely sheerly on hope. Taking a head-on attack of AIR CUTTERS wasn't an ideal way to go, but hopefully the team could rally once more and parry the hits.

"We're going to try to take on the volley of air cutters by attacking directly on. Do you have a heavy hitter on you?"

He could only hope. Meanwhile as Schuyler focused more on a defensive formation, his Ditto worked behind the scenes in an attempt to stall the train once again. The amorphous blob took shape of the Iron Bundle itself, though of course imperfected as all Ditto clones did, and attempted to freeze the tracks.

Robin could do little but flinch as Gengar took a beating, biting his large tongue and being flung off like trash. She was grateful when he returned to her side, but no one else's contribution seemed to be working out too well, either. She pet the side of his face, sympathetic, but the duo had no time for rest and recovery. Their perpetrator was going to make things worse way before he made them any better, and they had to act.

She sent out Snorlax to help Gengar tank the air cutter attacks, Gengar using shadow ball and Snorlax using giga impact to force the cutters to dissipate before they could hit her or her teammates. It would free up some time for her team to focus on offense since they wouldn't need a defensive action. Snorlax took a breath to recover, and Robin thought her options through.

"Could we create a wall and limit its area? It'd be easier for all of us to slam this thing down if it couldn't go anywhere. I'm afraid if things keep going like this, we're going to recreate unforgivable collateral damage, not just this thing." She really wanted Snorlax to use Earthquake to throw the assailant off its rhythm, but it wasn't worth the risks to the area, or her team.
